The issue of dust control on Lake Street north (Wigdahl Point) came back to Emmetsburg City Council Monday night. Adjacent property owners Pete Hamilton and Mary Brown attended to address the council.

Talking on fundamental fairness, Hamilton said the city should maintain the street and the dust control. He told the council that this is a heavily traveled 400-foot stretch of street, used by vehicles, bicycles, walkers, and joggers. He sees no fairness in asking homeowners to maintain the street.

Hamilton has contacted the EPA and DNR to see who is responsible for the dust control. He asked, is this ordinary travel on this road? By the road dust creating a nuisance, he referred to extraordinary travel. Hamilton asked that the city control the dust, and/or control the speed with creates a huge amount of dust.
